If you are using the USB-C for external storage you cannot use the USB-C for power. I shoot live theatre, concerts and dance shows. I have a GH6 so I tried the external storage and it works fine but I abandoned this solution as I needed to provide power for these long shoots. I use a Ninja V for recording and I record my back up to a 2 TB CF Express Card.

This is the type of lens that I should own. I call these kinds of lenses 'lazy person's lens' and when I say 'person' I really mean me! Now, I'm not really lazy, but when you've been slogging at it all day and shifting a heavy rig, doing audio, lighting and battling with lifting a tripod up and down more times than you care to remember, it is easy to start getting lazy as fatigue takes its toll. Being able to get a lot of good shots without shifting the tripod or changing lenses, helps with getting those very, very useful and necessary 'one more shots' that can make all the difference to the overall production. I only wish Sony would redo their own versions of a 'lazy person's lens' which are the FF PZ 28-135 and its APS-C/S35 sibling variant. There is no shame in owning and using a 'lazy person's lens' and trust me, as you get older, the hour that 'lazy person' sets in, gets earlier and earlier in the day or shoot!

Why this doc looks like... It doesn't like it's shot on c500 plus $30000 lens, more like camcorder from mid 2000s. Highlights blown off, close ups very soft and blurry, colors are awful.

Yes it would find a place in many productions ! Run and gun included. Despite the price of course.

Just one extra side note: the front focus gear is 0.8 however there is another 0.6 is the middle & another 0.6 for zoom & 0.4 for iris. Just incase focus puller wants to put their on motors 😊. & yes we love ours 🔥

I’ve been editing with LumaFusion for several years now and they got multi cam editing in the last big update. FCP is late to the party in that regard lol. I also can edit right from the SSD on my iPad Pro too. Should be interesting to see how the FCP2 for iPad works out.

If it was just based on location, then it would be black and white when they return to her childhood home later in the movie.

This Camera met all of my expectations.... except for one feature. Advertised on Sony's website as globalshutter like, the readout speed is similar to most cinema cameras on the market and slightly slower than the c400. But the image quality, IBIS, ND filters and reliability has been amazing.

that tripod seems not durable enough

I hope they fix few problems: -sliding in seem to stuck somewhere. you can clearly see in the video. pulling out and sliding in shows some resistance -fix color shift of the VND like in the previsous tilta mirage version -fix the motor to freeze after 10min + like in the tilta mirage version in combination with usb-c with DJI RS4 -fix the motor can not be powered on via usb-c after 10 minutes + -find a solution for the vignetting issue (I know it's a general proble of polarisation filter in vombination with wide angle lenses). you can offer 2 VND filters with different ranges add support for conrtrol vie DJI Ronin RS 2/3/4

Curious about the dual anamorphic option. Does Sony have anything like that? Does this give an anamorphic look even when using a standard GF lens such as a 55mm 1.7?

I love when manufacturers use the word “character” to describe the possible “flaws” in their lenses. I really wish there was a standard tool(like measuring LED lights) like HSI, CRI, etc. “Character” IMO is a “softening” term to describe what the manufacturer didn’t correct or didn’t want to correct.
